We are almost there.

You have worked really hard and there has been some excellent work completed so far. However, not everything has been finished to the standard we hoped for and we will look at making improvements to this in the new year.

First week back we will audit Assignment 1a and b to see what we have completed and what we don't. Anyone missing work will need to come to a catchup session on Wednesday 16th January after school.

TUESDAY 2ND OCTOBER

Well done everyone for your hard work today in Media. I was impressed with some of your editing and clearly some shots were successful. The next step for all of you which we will be looking at on Friday is evaluating your work.

So, in advance think about what your group did well, what you could have improved and how you might do things differently next time.

TODAY'S PRESENTATION.

For those of you who had some trouble with the homework and who DON'T want to get detention please can you look below and ensure that you have completed this by Friday.

1. Find a photograph you like - either from the web or one of your own (must not have you in it)
2. Make sure the photo is on your computer save ideally as a JPEG (thats a picture format) somewhere which is easy to find like the desk top
3. Open up blogger and login
4. Create a new POST
5. CLick the Compose button top left (just under the title of you blog)
6. Then click the image button - it is between the Link button and the Film button (which looks like a movie clapperboard)
7. A new box will appear and you must elect the image you want to upload - choose the one you saved to the desk top and ADD SELECTED - it will then appear in your BLOG POST.
8. Move it to where you want it and write about it.

I hope that is clear. It is really quite easy once you know how.

Friday 28th September Lesson

Well done everyone for:

1: creating your blogs - no mean feat, the technology can be confusing so good effort all round and Vivos too.

2: planning, filming and beginning to edit your 6 shot films - again, some good use of teamwork and some inventive ideas - we will be finishing these on Tuesday in class.

Below is the lesson presentation for today with the HW on the last slide - remember it is to find an image and put it on your blog - or print it out and stick it in your book of access to your blog is limited - analyse it and explain why you chose it.

Welcome to the year 10 Media Studies GCSE blog.

Write this down in your journal NOW.

It is the place where you will find your information about the course and where I will sometimes ask you to look for work. It is a place where you will find lots of useful links and information about the course, resources you can use and examples of previous work to inspire you.

The blog is also a bit like a diary of your year, which will chart the topics and lessons so you can go back and revisit it when you want to revise. The blog is for you and if you use it well it WILL improve your grades.

EDMODO

Edmodo is the social networking tool we are going to trial this year. It looks like facebook only it is just for Media Studies and is a place where I will put quizzes, give you your current levels and collect your homework sometimes.
